District Study

The bulk of IDE's consulting work is in school districts and universities that are looking to bring about lasting, substantive change in instruction to be well-positioned for the future. We believe that all change must be contextual, linked closely to the local culture and context. To that end, as a first step, IDE consultants conduct a study of the organization.

The benefit of the study is threefold:

• It provides the organization with clear guidelines for continual improvement.
  
• Should the organization choose to utilize the services of IDE consultants, it allows us to develop a set of written recommendations that will maximize our effectiveness in working in the organization.
  
• It builds momentum for change by allowing teachers to be heard first, as opposed to being simply told what to do by outside expert (the more typical use of consultants).

The study report includes specific recommendations for the organization: those that do not require the services of IDE as well as recommendations for ways to best utilize IDE's consulting services.
