Individual Learning Path

Students are able to reach their highest potential when they follow an individual learning path. Teachers in learner-active classrooms differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the individual learner. Rather than having the whole class sit through a lesson on converting fractions to decimals, for example, the teacher will differentiate between those students who already know how to do this and those who don't, conducting mini-lessons or individual instruction as needed. Furthermore, the teacher may design different materials for different students, based on their individual needs as learners.
