National Geographic's Alaska
This is a National Geographic site that has a lot of information on Alaska. It has pages that cover culture, population, geography, and much more.

NYC Link: the Official New York City Web Site
This is the web site for NYC that provides access to its agencies, programs, services, and information on cultural, educational, and recreational activities.

Boston
A great site for people looking to get the flavor of the Boston area or for those looking to relocate there. A running description of Boston is broken down into these categories: What's new, cost of living, housing, taxes, jobs, getting around, weather, culture/nighlife, recreation, and local customs.

Chicago Mosaic
The front page of this site provides links to information on city schools, a current political issue in the city, transportation, the public library, events, an interactive map, and a traffic bulletin.

Cairo
One of the many cities included on the TourEgypt site, sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt.

Sydney
Updated daily, this site features the current weather, news, information, events, photos and more!

Museums

Expo, WWW Exhibit Organization
Pick up a free ticket and take the EXPO shuttle bus to several of the many exhibits (including the Vatican and Dead Sea Scrolls exhibits). Also, visit the EXPO Bookstore and Post Office.

Hands On Children's Museum
A fun place to visit for kids 10 years old and under. Exhibit themes vary. The current theme is about the forest and the animals that live there.

Hands-on Science Centers Worldwide
This site contains numerous links to public museums that have a strong emphasis on interacitve science education.

National Holocaust Memorial Museum
Lots of information found at this site -- access to museum resources, calendar of public events, on-line exhibitions, and much more!

National Air and Space Museum
Take a look behind the scenes at the museum. Visit the new exhibition: "Star Wars The Magic of Myth." Preview the teacher workshops scheduled for Spring '98. Browse through other collections and exhibitions with the click of a mouse!

National Parks

Joshua Tree National Park
This site offers a beautiful slide show of digital photos from Joshua Tree National Park, as well as useful information for tourists, campers and park lovers.

Desert USA: Parks
Death Valley is among the several desert national parks in the United States highlighted in this Web site. Fill up your water bottle, apply some sunscreen and check out these arid parks here.

This site contains a functional searching tool for national parks. You may be amazed to find out how many there are. Check to see if there’s one in your area - you just may be surprised to discover that there’s one nearby!

New York City

The United Nations
This is a wonderful place to tour either in person or virtually. The six principal organs are explained; General Assembly, Security, Economic/Social, Trusteeship, and the International Court. There is so much to view and learn about the function of the United Nations.

The Sony Wonderlab
Visit this lab to learn about audio, imaging, robotics, design and network through interactive exhibits. Also, a must go to meet "bb the Wonderbot".

The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum
This museum is the only one in the United States devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. It celebrates the nature of design and how it affects our lives. Check it out to see some neat designs!

National Museum of American History
This museum helps to foster and promote the understanding of Native American people. There is a list of past and current exhibitions and much more!

The Studio Museum in Harlem
This museum is dedicated to African American art. The collection features nineteenth and twentieth-century African-American art, twentieth century Caribbean and African art, and traditional African art and artifacts.

The Merchant's House Museum
Visit this house from the 19th century, the only one in New Your City intact from the inside and out. There are three floors and seven period rooms containing the original possessions of the family.

North Pole

Get a first hand look at the North Pole! This site has two Web cams and lots of images of the North Pole. Find out information about the weather, climate, geography and much more.

The Iditarod - A WebQuest
This elementary school WebQuest asks students to keep a diary while "competing" in the famous race through Alaska. Students are asked to apply the knowledge learned about Alaska while preparing and then competing in this race.
