Here is a link to many different resources about marine life. This is from Yahooligans! so it should be age appropriate resources for the most part.

This link gives some general information on the Ocean. Although a little high, it does have pictures to support the reading.

This is an incredible exhibit that the Smithsonian put together. It discusses all different aspects of the ocean including people that depend on it. It is very easy to navigate through and has many, many pictures.

Children’s Encyclopedia of Women
This site has contains an alphabetized directory of numerous famous women from past to present. It includes modern women who are authors, politicians, and actresses. Written and update by a third and fourth grade students.

GurlWurld.com
A great site for girls, designed with middle school in mind. Includes links to many topics about famous women under "herstory". There are numerous historical topics like women’s rights, biographies, timelines, and more!

Women of NASA
NASA’s site to commemorate contributions, history and future of women in the fields of math, science, and technology. This site can be viewed in Spanish. It includes links to teacher resources for curriculum ideas, links to discussion forums, and teacher tips on implementation. Great site for teachers and students.

4000 Years of Women in Science
Great site for middle school and high school students. Lists biographies of women scientists dating back to 600 B.C.E. The site also includes links to photographs, and additional references for further research.

The National Women’s Hall of Fame
This Seneca Falls Site has a wealth of information for students and teachers. It includes biographies of all the women who inducted in the past, recent additions to the Hall of Fame, student contests, history of Seneca Falls and the Women’s Right’s Movement, tributes, and even a site where you can nominate a women to the Hall of Fame.

The Quest for Equality
World Book’s site that outlines the history of the Women’s Right’s Movement. This site includes links to biographies of women who pioneered the quest as well as links to other sites famous women in history. Great site for teacher’s, parents, and students.
