Individual Learning Paths

Teachers differentiate instruction and assignments to meet the needs of each individual learner.

Students are able to reach their highest potential when they follow an individual learning path.  Teachers in Learner-Active, Technology-Infused Classrooms differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners.  Rather than having the whole class sit through a lesson on converting fractions to decimals, for example, the teacher will differentiate between those students who already know how to accomplish this and those who do not, conducting small-group mini-lessons or individual instruction as needed.  Furthermore, using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, teachers will design different materials for different students, based on their individual needs and learning styles. The goal is to provide all students with access to rich, rigorous, and relevant curriculum.
